Here is a hybrid car comparison to help you better identify the advantages to owning a hybrid car. Currently, there are eleven different models of hybrid cars that can be used in this hybrid car comparison, but only a few will be used to give a good idea of the overall advantages possessed by these environmentally and economically friendly cars.

What you're going to see compared in this hybrid car comparison is the gas mileage estimate for city, the gas mileage estimate for the highway, and the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). These items will help you make the best decision when finalizing your type of car.

The first car that makes it to the top of our hybrid car comparison is the Honda Insight with manual transmission. The car gives you 60 miles on one gallon of gasoline in the city and gives you six more miles on the highway for a total of 66 miles per gallon (mpg). The MSRP is $19,530. Now, although this car seems to be higher priced than non-hybrid cars, the overall savings in fuel costs will keep more cash in your pocket in the long run. This car does possess the best gas mileage of all eleven-hybrid models.

The second car in our hybrid car comparison is the Honda Insight-CVT. This car possesses the same qualities as our number one car, but gets slightly less gas mileage. The Honda Insight-CVT gets 57 (mpg) in the city and 56 (mpg), but the MSRP is $21,530. So let us go straight to number three in our hybrid car comparison, which is the Toyota Prius. The Toyota Prius gives us 60 mpg in the city and 61 mpg at an MSRP of $21,725.

So we have covered the first three cars in our hybrid car comparison that rates at the top of the list based on gas mileage and price. Now, let's read about the bottom three those have also found their places on the list based on gas mileage and price. These models tend to be the SUV-like models; therefore you may see a higher price with lower gas mileage, but these cars do get better gas mileage than a non-hybrid.

Number nine in the top eleven and number four in our hybrid car comparison is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid 2WD, which gets 33 mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. The MSRP is $33,030. Number ten is the Toyota Highlander Hybrid 4WD at 31 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with an MSRP of $34,430. And last, we have the Lexus RX 400h at 31 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and an MSRP of $49,060.

This hybrid car comparison should give you an idea of a hybrid car's pricing and the kind of gas mileage you can expect.
